NOTE:  If you have Netscape the link to the dll may try to save as an EXE.  Don't let it or it won't work.  You must save it as UOAssist.dll.

The installer is available on the Get It Now! page or you can download UOAssist.exe from above.

Test files are now downloaded using UpdateAce.  Press the settings button at the bottom right of the update/news page.  Then set UOAssist to check for test files.  When a test version is available a button will appear that allows you to download them if you'd like.

Pending approval from OSI

  • Added 'Use Item Type & color' and 'Target Item Type & Color' to the macro system.  These check both type and color of the item to make sure it finds a match.  The first is helpful for using the special fish and the second is helpful for different crafting skills like blacksmith, tailor ...  (Delayed until OSI approves)
  • Option to prevent dismounting during combat (must be in combat mode)  (OSI rejected - giving up on:)
  • New skill agent for smelting.  Splits ores in your pack to a single piece then smelts it.  (OSI rejected - appealing)

Planned for next update - release date = ??

  • Elven quivers are now seen as containers so items in them are counted.
  • More target relative changes for publish 20

  • Vendor agent pricing problems should be fixed.
  • When you edit a pause length it should now be saved as expected.

UOAssist.exe 1.5.12.4 - Nov 6, 2004

  • On some machines UOAssist was not correctly detecting the installs of UO.  This problem could not be produced locally even with copies of registry settings from machines having the trouble but with the help of a very nice person in Japan that had the trouble the cause was found and code was changed to avoid the trouble.

UOAssist.exe 1.5.12.1 UOAssist.dll 1.19.16.20 - Nov 5, 2004

  • UOAssist will find the 'correct' UO patcher if only one version (2d or 3d) of the client is installed (nothing to do with UO:SE).
  • New skills are listed on UOAssist skills tab.
  • Setting a text color on the display tab could cause some UO system messages to not be visible.  This problem has been fixed.
  • Removed references to UO:SE beta clients.

UOAssist.exe 1.5.12.0 UOAssist.dll 1.19.16.17 - Sept 17, 2004

  • Target self has been updated and should work with more (hopefully all) spells/skills now.
  • Response time on some features should improve when in locations with low/no activity.
  • The bandage timer should now stop when a bleeding wound is closed.  Previously the bandage timer would go to the max of 30 seconds before dismissing itself because it didn't 'know' about bleeding wounds.
  • Fixed the 'old' load method so it works with the latest clients and also uses less system resources.
  • UOAssist recognizes the presence of the UO:SE beta clients and allows launching of them.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.16.14 - July 19, 2004

  • Monthly(ish) update.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.16.13 - May 27, 2004

  • Code optimization, nothing much.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.16.10 - March 18, 2004

  • Added more registration key slots (total is now 22).  This required updates to language files as well.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.16.8 - Feb 5, 2004

  • Gift boxes are recognized as containers.
  • Fix for a few people having trouble with blank 'pages' in UOAssist when running on WindowsME.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.16.5 - Dec 8, 2003

  • Dragon scales now are counted correctly when in stacks.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.16.3 - Oct 15, 2003

  • Publish 20 has changes in it that break target relative for gathering wood.  This has been fixed.  Since the change required that UOAssist now read the map data target relative should once again work for mining as well.  Actually it may work better than the target relative mining.  In testing there were still a couple of problems with using target relative for chopping on trees but 95+% of the time it should work fine.

UOAssist.exe 1.5.11.2 - Sept 30, 2003

  • Found and fix a bug that would cause the license agreement text to be missing on install.
  • Found a problem in UpdateAce that causes a GPF when replacing a file that was in use during update.  Note:  This causes an error during the update of UOAssist.exe here are some ways to overcome that error.
    • Method 1 (easy if you know Windows Explorer):  After receiving the error about a unhandled exception in UAP??.tmp use Windows Explorer and go do your UOAssist directory (default is c:\program files\UOAssist).  Under that you should see a download directory.  Copy the UOAssist.exe file that is in the download diretory to your UOAssist directory.
    • Method 2 Manually download UOAssist.exe and put it in your UOAssist directory (default location is c:\program files\uoassist).
    • Method 3 Uninstall UOAssist by choosing the shortcut Start | Programs | UOAssist | UOAssist - uninstall.  You will be asked if you want to remove settings (default is to remove all settings).  Make sure you switch the option to 'None - leave all settings' or all of your macros and settings will be removed.  Then download UOAssist.exe and run it and it will reinstall with updated files that don't crash during updates.

UOAssist.exe 1.5.11.0 & UOAssist.dll 1.19.16.0 - Sept 23, 2003

  • Fixed problem with UOAssist activating any bag of sending you were carrying during a resource count.
  • Fixed a problem with items in the main pack not being removed correctly when they were used or destroyed.  (As a work one can count resources after entering the game with a character)
  • UpdateAce updated with a workaround if all control packets where not received by client (specifically socket closure).

UOAssist.dll 1.19.15.21 - Aug 26, 2003

  • When crossing server lines UO often sends stat information where your weight is 10 (and gold count is zero).  This causes UOAssist to display incorrect information.  UOAssist now will request an update for the information so it can display the correct information within a couple of seconds.
  • UOAssist now will recognize a basket as a container.
  • A couple of new packet types are recognized.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.15.19 - July 31, 2003

  • Some types of folded cloth were not counted correctly when in stacks.  That has been fixed but know that there are (at least) 3 different types of folded cloth.  Single stacks are usually (from my testing) a different type that stacks of folded cloth.  That means if you set a user resource counter to count single stacks it will not count stacks of greater than 1.
  • The vendor list on the vendor agent didn't always update fully if you issued an update command more than once.  This started happening with update 1.19.15.16 because of a change made to get the complete descriptions.  Now the list should update more reliably.  There still is the 'anti spam' timer that will cause the list to be empty if you request it multiple times quickly.  If you wait at least 5 seconds between update request you shouldn't have trouble.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.15.18 - June 20, 2003

  • Just a few internal changes.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.15.16 - May 29, 2003

  • OSI's latest publish made it so not all descriptions of items were complete.  That has been fixed.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.15.15 - May 21, 2003

  • Change AR to PR in display.
  • Items (rings, bracelets ...) that modified a 'stat' (str, int, dex) would have the modifier displayed twice in the vendor agent item list.  Changes were made to avoid displaying the info twice even though OSI is sending it twice.
  • While wearing a mana bonus item the titlebar display for mana and macros with a wait for mana amount did not work with the bonus amount.  That has been fixed.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.15.12 - April 17, 2003

  • Made a small change to counting resources so the error 'You must wait to perform another action' should not happen as much when carrying many bags.
  • Made a change to target relative mining so it should work better in some of the tunnels in Malas.  Note:  it still will not be 100% but should work better specifically in Malas.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.15.5 - March 21, 2003

  • While using the 3d client in full screen mode it was highly probable that UOAssist generated in game text would not appear.  This bug was found and fixed.
  • The use once agent labels could mess up the 'titles' of some objects.  This was fixed and hopefully all items titles get displayed correctly even when they are use once items.
  • Now if you exit UO with UOAssist minimized it should remain minimized when you restart.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.15.0 - March 4, 2003

  • Support for UO Mage Tool was broken inadvertently.  Has been corrected now.
  • The 2 reagents (actually it is a total of 4) claimed to be fixed in patch 1.19.14.3 actually were not.  Now they are fixed.
  • AoS changed what format that was used in the UO language files for multi-byte character sets.  UOAssist has been adjusted to recognize the new format so descriptions display correctly.
  • Optimized some of the packet processing code.  In static testing it is much faster but in playing UO no speed difference was noticed.  Still it may help those with machines that are straining to keep up.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.14.3 - Feb 20, 2003

  • 2 reagents in the titlebar display were switched in 1.19.14.0 update.  Switched them back.
  • 4 Items on the resources page were not being displayed there (but were in the titlebar).  That was fixed.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.14.2 - Feb 20, 2003

  • Error detection code was added to the translator loading code to make sure the translator had all of the function present and if it didn't an error was displayed.  Turns out that a popular translator didn't have all of the functions present (but still works) so the error was getting displayed.  So the error detection has been removed to avoid the error message.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.14.1 - Feb 20, 2003

  • Quickly fixed a bug where some spells (necro and mage) would not display the spell names after power words.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.14.0 - Feb 20, 2003

  • Under certain conditions your AR could incorrectly display very high values.  It should now display negative values in those cases (like UO does).
  • Bags of sending once again were causing problems for resources counting on AoS servers.  This has been fixed.
  • Organizer agent bug fixed so if the 'drop on bag' location is selected more stackable items types will be stacked.
  • Orange petals, red leaves and green thorns can be counted correctly now.
  • UOAssist stat lock info and toggling was broken on AoS servers.  Has been corrected.
  • Tithing points can be displayed in the titlebar now.
  • Necro reagents can be displayed in the titlebar now.  NOTE:  Some necro reagents are the same 'type' as other items which if you have in your pack will be counted along with the reagent.  Nox crystal is the same as serpents scales.  Grave dust is the same as volcanic ash.  Daemon blood is the same as a vial of blood.
  • If Necro reagents are displayed in the titlebar and a necro spell is cast the reagents used will highlighted.
  • Fixed bug that when you cleared the vendor bag setting it still displayed a name for the bag.
  • Bagballs are now recognized as containers.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.13.25 - Feb 14, 2003

  • A bug that has been in UOAssist for a long time (probably 5 years) finally got exposed today.  Not sure if OSI's patch today did it or just the overwhelmed servers.  Anyway the bug made it so last target and target self would not work if any socket errors were being reported.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.13.24 - Feb 14, 2003

  • Bag 'tags' fixed for AoS servers.  Now on AoS servers you'll see the special UOAssist tags on assigned bags.  Meaning after you assign your vendor bag and then mouse over the bag in UO it will show the vendor bag tag.  NOTE:  Non-english modules need an update for this to function.  NOTE:  There are still some cases where that can cause tags to not 'move' properly when you re-assign bags.
  • All skills now in list.  On non-AoS shards you will see the skills even though they are not available on such shards.  Not planning to fix this since all shards will be moving to AoS.
  • Normal spell castings has been fixed for AoS shards.  BUT it has not been tested with new necro and paladin abilities/spells.  It may work but it may not.  Normal spells should work fine.  UOAssist will automatically update existing macros that had spell casting in them.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.13.21 - Feb 12, 2003

  • A couple of users were having trouble with the vendor agent list feature if they had over 63 BODs in there vendor pack.  A work around has been put in to avoid this problem.
  • Up to 6 user defined resources can now be tracked.  The first 2 are set on the 'normal' resource page and the next 4 are set on the 'Advanced' resource page.
  • You can now set names for the user defined resources (press the UserX button to view the options).
  • Two data stream updates for new AOS data.  Fixes at least one login problem that caused you to freeze on login.  NOTE:  The UO servers (both login and US shard game servers) seem to be overwhelmed currently (Feb 12).  This UOAssist update can not help with UO server issues.
  • Vender agent users:  You may see some blank lines with this update.  This is being worked on, wanted to get this patch out fast so UOAssist was not preventing people from getting into the game.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.13.9 - Jan 31, 2003

  • If you cast summon air elemental UOAssist incorrectly shows it as using Sulphurous Ash.  This has been corrected.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.13.7 - Jan 10, 2003

  • On the skills list if you had a skill selected that had a lock of anything other than up and did a copy all skills to clipboard the skill lock would change to up.  This bug has been fixed.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.13.5 - Dec 20, 2002

  • Last update broke Win95 users.  This should get Win95 users working again.
  • Fixed counting of powder of translocation and zoogi fungus.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.13.3 - Dec 20, 2002

  • No feature changes.  Just internal changes.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.13.1 - Nov. 26, 2002

  • Disabled the resync with server feature at OSI/EA's request.  It seems some people were using this feature  in an exploit (that could also be done without UOAssist even running) so it has been disabled while OSI/EA looks into the problem.  And I ask that you honest folks out that please report any exploits you find please report them to OSI/EA and if  UOAssist aids in performing the exploit please email the details to UOAssist@tugsoft.com so it can be fixed.  Remember if you exploit bugs, no matter how they are done, you risk losing your account(s).

UOAssist.dll 1.19.13.0 - Nov. 19, 2002

  • When the delay for speaking was moved before the actual speech it caused problems for some.  What happened is UOAssist automatically slows down processing when the action in UO is hot and heavy.  So the delay was taking longer than desired as UOAssist was letting UO take as much CPU time as possible.  So two modifications have been made to avoid the problem.  First is the speech delay will not happen at the end of the speech again UNLESS there is some type of target command after the speech line.  Also changes were made so UOAssist will try to keep macros moving at a better pace even when UO is very busy as well.
  • The begging skill was added to the skill agent.
  • The description of items that stated their durability was off (stated durability: xx).  This has been corrected for the vendor agent and arm settings.
  • When switching game accounts without restarting UO some people received alerts about the data stream changing.  That should not happen any longer.
  • Added caching code to speed up string lookups.  This makes the vendor agent much faster along with some other features.  (NOTE:  UOAssist has a feature in it that makes it so it will not request a 'description' of a item more than once per 7 seconds.  This means if you try to refresh the vendor list more often than that you'll get a blank list).

UOAssist.exe 1.5.10.0 - UOAssist.dll 1.19.12.0 - Oct. 14, 2002

  • A new option for non-English language users has been added.  On the skills list (on skills page) you can right click and select to have skill names displayed in English if desired.
  • UOAssist macros have had the ability to 'speak' for a long time.  After speaking UOAssist paused for a short period of time to help prevent its use to 'spam' people on screen.  The pause was happening after the speech was sent to the servers.  This caused problems for people using macros to command their pets and include targeting in the macro (such as speak 'Morgag attack', target last target).  The short pause has been changed to happen before the speech so UOAssist doesn't miss the target command.
  • On a few machines/setups UOPatch doesn't seem to return a valid exit code after running.  UOAssist used the exit code to know if UOPatch was successful or not.  Since the exit code isn't reliable UOAssist now will ignore the exit code by default.
  • A bug in removing lines just after inserting a 'wait until' command was found and has been corrected (no memory corruption just confusion on the currently selected macro line).
  • If the agents tab was selected when you logged a character into the game it would appear blank.  This bug was introduced in the last patch and has been corrected.
  • Skill agents that target animals will now work with beetles.
  • The resource counter will now check bags to see if they are bags of sending or not.  And if the bag is a bag of sending UOAssist will not attempt to open it to see what is in it.
  • The resource counter can once again display count progress message so you can tell when it has finished counting.
  • Fixed 'test' file downloads to work as they did a long time ago.  Now if you have the check for test files option on and test files are available you'll be prompted to download.  Previously they just got downloaded without asking.  With this fixed test files can be posted once again for easier downloading.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.11.3 - Sept. 27, 2002

  • A bug existed that can cause one to receive "You can not perform beneficial acts on your target." from the servers while a macro is playing that has targeting commands in it.  The source of the problem has been found and corrected so the message will no longer is received.
  • The skill list wasn't getting localized skill names as it should have been.
  • Added the ability to use the middle mouse button as a hotkey in UOAssist
  • Added the ability to use buttons 4 & 5 (X1 and X2) that some mice have (like MS Explorer Mouse).  NOTE:  if you run intellipoint (which by default runs with MS Explorer Mouse) it normally watches for those buttons being pressed and simulates keystrokes for them.  You can use this but for 'best' performance turn off intellipoint and UOAssist can use the 'raw' button.  You'll see the keystroke listed as MB X1 or MB X2 in UOAssist.  That stands for MB - Mouse Button X1- x1 button or X2 - x2 button.  Also know that if you turn off intellipoint (right click on the mouse icon in your 'tray' and select 'Close Intellipoint' you may find some aps no longer work with the mouse as expected.  Just start Intellipoint back up to get the extra features it provides.  One last thing, the 'raw' mouse messages for the X1 and X2 buttons may not work on Win9x-WinMe.  They do work on Win2k and WinXP.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.11.1 - Sept. 6, 2002

  • Some Win9x/Me users reported problems with the new clipboard functions.  That problem was found and corrected.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.11.0 - Sept. 5, 2002

  • Optimized title bar drawing code.  Can help if you 'freeze' for a second after casting a spell only when you have the title bar display feature in UOAssist on.  If you freeze even when not using UOAssist this will not help.
  • Found and fixed a buffer overflow bug if the macro buffer is completely full (200 lines) and a line is deleted.
  • Changed the stam/dex titlebar display to be accurate even when a wizards hat is being worn and you only have 14 or less dex to begin with.  What happens is the servers won't 'set' your dex below 10 so the UOAssist display always showed the max stam as 10 even though the servers will let stam go down to 5.
  • Hewolf of Great Lakes found that a type of cloth was not counted correctly by the resource counter.  That has been fixed so it is counted correctly now.
  • Agent page will remember which agent was last used so when you restart that page can be selected.
  • The cartography agents on the skill agent page have been removed.  They haven't functioned since OSI changed how cartography is used and with the changes OSI made it is just as easy to just make a macro to do it now.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.10.6 - August 16, 2002

  • Stats on UOAssist's skill page list will show 'stat locks' correctly (up, down or locked).  This means UOAssist has to request the information from the servers.  So shortly after you log into the game you will see the messages from the server pertaining to the current stat lock status.
  • You can toggle your stat's by right clicking on the stat in the skills list (bottom of list) then selecting the toggle menu item.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.10.5 - July 27, 2002

  • Updated skill list to display Discordance
  • Added more veterinary heal/cure messages that will stop the bandage timer.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.10.4 - June 29, 2002

  • Last column in skills listed was not showing 'cap' in title as it should.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.10.3 - June 21, 2002

  • Quick update to fix a problem with 'single' skill changes not showing in UOAssist on non-Publish 16 servers (all non testing servers).

UOAssist.dll 1.19.10.2 - June 21, 2002

  • Fixed skills list for Publish 16 servers (Test Center 2 currently)
  • Skill cap column added to skills list.
  • Added a 'command line' command -resetitem.  You use it by 'speaking' the command in UO.  If a Use Item or Use Item Type line is selected in your current macro it will allow you to reset the item much like the current -retarget command works.  To see all command line command 'speak' -help.

UOAssist.exe 1.5.9.3 -  May 30, 2002

  • UOAssist now watches UOPatch.exe resources to make sure the system cleans them up before UOAssist will launch the 2d or 3d client.  This should help the few people that were getting the error about an instance of UOPatch already running when UOAssist was attempting to start the client.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.10.1 -  May 13, 2002

  • Changed the recycle/smelt agent to ignore dragon hammers.  Before if you had a dragon hammer in your hand or pack UOAssist might attempt to use it for smelting which would cause problems on normal items.  In a future update a smelt using dragon hammer agent may be added.

UOAssist.exe 1.5.9.1 -  April 14, 2002

  • Found a problem where UOAssist was defaulting to 'user defined client' rather than than using the default client.  This was causing people to get the Unable to launch client.exe error message.

UOAssist.exe 1.5.9.0 -  UOAssist.dll - 1.19.10.0 - April 11, 2002

  • The information on the news/update page is compressed better which should help modem users load it a little bit faster and saves bandwidth overall.
  • Carpentry menus function differently than other menus and this causes UOAssist macros to fail most of the time with them.  A change has been made to allow UOAssist to work correctly with them.
  • There is now a 'pickup agent'.  It allows you to set a container that UOAssist will drop items into that are picked up using the pickup reagent/item feature.  This has actually been coded for a long time but OSI wouldn't allow it until now.

UOAssist.exe 1.5.8.8 - March 7, 2002

  • Text describing clients is more generic to avoid confusing with LBR and TD and Ren ... clients.  Now they are just called 2D or 3D clients.
  • NOTE:  This wasn't posted as a automatic download because work is still being done on it.  After the additional features are finished an auto-download will be posted.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.9.8 - March 1, 2002

  • Some items (such as bulk order deeds) would not be described in the vendor agent item list correctly.  Changes were made to correct that problem.  If you know of specific items that do not get described correctly anywhere inside UOAssist after this update please email uoassist@tugsoft.com.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.9.7 - January 30, 2002

  • Made changes to how UOAssist draws the title bar (when option is on).  Now the buttons should be in the correct positions on WinXP.  Also if gradient shading is used on the system it should be used when UOAssist is drawing the title bar.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.9.6 - January 10, 2002

  • Increased the sell agent so it can sell up to 200 items at a time or 50 'stacks', whichever comes first.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.9.4 - January 4, 2002

  • Fixed bug where the organizer agent was dropping items in random spots.
  • Added ability to activate the organizer agent via the item list right click menu.
  • Increased the sell agent so it can sell up to 20 items at a time or 5 stacks, whichever comes first.  Once OSI puts publish 15 on all machines this may be adjusted up higher.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.9.2 - December 31, 2001

  • Sell agent changed back to 5 item limit.  Jumped the gun on that one.  Once the next publish is put on all servers it will be changed to handle more than 5 items again.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.9.1 - December 31, 2001

  • Sell agent changed so it can sell more than 5 items at time to reflect changes OSI has made to selling.  NOTE:  It will currently sell up to 30 stacks of items at a time.  So if you are trying to sell over 30 stacks you will have to sell multiple times.  (A non-stackable item is counted as 1 stack).
  • Organizer agent can now be used to fill potion kegs.
  • Organizer agent will now only attempt to move an item a maximum of 2 times to avoid getting into a endless loop when moving an item fails for some reason (like trying to put wrong potion types or non-potions into a potion keg).

UOAssist.exe 1.5.8.7  - UOAssist.dll 1.19.9.0 - December 24, 2001

  • Added Organizer agent.  Some tips on using it are here.  NOTE: - The organizer agent does NOT look at the color or quality of items.  So even if the organizer agent lists the type as 'exceptional valorite gloves' as the type ALL plate gloves will get moved when activated.
  • Added a feature on the 'common' page to automatically cancel veteran rewards.

UOAssist.dll 1.19.8.4 - December 4, 2001

  • Found another problem that could cause the client to crash on login and fixed it.
  • Fixed the vendor agent to work with the changes OSI made on the servers.
  • Added a new target relative feature specifically with the changes OSI made for mining.  You will have to update any mining macros you have to use the new Target Relative (mining) macro command if you are having problems with the original target relative command.
